CANT SCREEN RECORD BIGO? *to help others who search the question* Source recording/capture; Currently two methods. A: B1go Downloader by Hedone . Works well and has an excellent auto download option. (I think) it works by following the link to the live, grabbing the m3u8 link and then doing some ffmpeg magic. Problem with this method is if you search your favorite streamers using their link on PC MAJORITY of them have this "The broadcaster is coming.." message which completely blocks the player from loading therefore preventing the program from grabbing the m3u8 link at all. Surely a preventative measure put in place by Bigo to not allow any sort of recording (I'm not sure how it's decided which ones get "The broadcaster is coming.." message because some of the streams do NOT have this message). B: Tincat Browser. There is also an app developed by the same dev called video downloader, I'm sure there are many apps like this but I use Tincat browser. The important thing is that it can find the m3u8 link to be able to download the stream. The reason why this app is always able to grab the m3u8 link is because (I think) the User-Agent, Bigo allows streams to be viewed from the web but only if it is from a mobile User-Agent signature and of course, since Tincat is a mobile app, it counts. Just make sure that you disable desktop mode/view in the app VERY IMPORTANT. I personally use this method because I find it to be the most convenient, just search the link (Bigo.tv/ID) to whoever you wish to record, press the button in the UI (the play button) to find any video links (m3u8) and press the download button and it's added to the queue, silently downloading in the background. I've been able to download up to four(4) lives at the same time with no hiccups! It could probably do more. I just haven't tested it. I'm sure this is the case especially for Bigo streams because the majority are low bitrate which results in less network usage and of course smaller file sizes (less hardware demand overall). Speaking of, the longest stream I’ve captured comes in at three hours at around 2GB with zero issues throughout (this is not a hard cap just how long that stream lasted). Though some issues I've noticed are; SOME of the resulting mp4s can come out sort of glitched i.e. RARE artifacting, RARE sped up or down, audio desync occurs after the stream is blocked by Bigo (suspicious violation detected thing), sometimes there is some occasional skipping although I suspect it to be because of the streamers internet is cutting out or when they pause the stream. Not sure why the artifacting or speed issues happen but it’s very rare and hasn’t happened to any streams I wished to keep. Also something I must mention is, whether the stream is ended by the streamer or by a straight up “ban” from Bigo, the m3u8 (source) capture always ends three seconds BEFORE the player (web or app). Meaning that any screen recording will ALWAYS be three seconds longer than source, though I’ve only tested this once so that amount may vary, could just be three seconds or many minutes. This brings us to the most reliable capture/recording method. Screen recording; There are countless ways to screen record but here are the prominent methods. A: Recording an Android emulator on your PC using OBS. This method involves the use of an android emulator on your PC, whether it may be the official emulator from google you can setup using their downloadable SDK tools (AVD) or Bluestacks, Memu, LDplayer or whichever other Chinese bloatware. What matters is that your emulator can run the Bigo app. Preferably the Bigo Lite app try another one of the variants here if it doesn’t want to install. This version of the Bigo app provides a better viewing experience by far because of the minimal player UI i.e. no gifts to block the view, no “discount”/MTX pop-ups and no banners (500 ). Also I suspect that the quality is better than the main app, I’ve only actively noticed this once though, and I haven’t bothered to again because it wasn’t to great of a difference that I noticed (I’ve got a keen eye for this, but it could have been just an internet connection thing), very fortunate for the ones who have been recording from the main app. If you’re new to using Bigo Lite you might ask “how do I search” well, that is the main drawback of this version, you can’t. But I will try and explain later how to circumvent this issue. Of course you could just use the main Bigo app but trust me, you want to be recording using the Lite version. Now all that is left is to turn on your desired stream and start recording! But this is not so simple. There is no lack of screen recorders on PC but the one I recommend is OBS. OBS is free and open source and has pretty much every option you’d need or want when it comes to screen capture. I’m not gonna give a full tutorial on how to optimally screen record using OBS but here are some tips. Bitrate over resolution. The main factor when it comes to how good the quality of the recording will be is bitrate. If we look at Bigo source file bitrates (the bitrate streamers stream at) they can be found to be between 800kbs to 2000kbs, so try and set your bitrate between these values. Do not go lower than 800kbs or the quality of the recording will come out worse than what you were actually watching, you CAN go higher than 2000kbs but the higher the bitrate the LARGER the file size, no one likes a 500MB one minute video (that’s ~8.3MBs!). Resolution in OBS can be set to any standard portrait mode scale. I use 720x1280. Use window capture in OBS and make the window of the emulator as big as it can get. The size of the window affects quality, basically the bigger the better and make sure to fit the capture to the preview window in OBS ‘ctrl+f’. B:Screen recording your phone. This is by far the simplest and easiest though not so convenient method to capture a stream. Any screen recording app from the app store is a viable option but I use XRecorder and would recommend it. XRecorder is very easy to optimize to get a good quality capture mainly because it doesn’t have many options to change. Here are the recommended settings for XRecorder Audio: Internal, Video Settings; Resolution: 720p, Quality:1Mbps, FPS:60. Just one huge drawback when using these screen recorder apps is that the quality is very subpar. Perhaps I’m a snob but the quality is very noticeably inferior compared to a properly setup OBS recording, especially in high movement scenes though, it is tolerable. Just like emulator recording I would highly recommend using the Bigo Lite app. Not only because of the benefits I’ve already listed but also because of a peculiar issue the main Bigo app has when you try to record certain streams; the infamous Black Screen. Bigo Lite does not have this issue. Bigo Lite should always be used when it comes to capturing a stream with any type of screen recording. HOW TO USE BIGO LITE / HOW TO SEARCH BIGO LITE Bigo Lite does not have a search function, this is why we can’t just switch to solely using it but, you can see other users accounts and check their following list. What we need to do is find our “main” account, since that is the account we will be using to fill our follow list on Bigo Lite. This is simple, on your Bigo Lite account click on any stream and get the ID for it. Now search that ID on your main account and enter the stream, now type anything into the chat and you should be able to see yourself in the chat with your other account. All you need to do now is click that account and follow yourself and start filling your follow list! Also make sure to follow back your account to become “friends” this is for convenience whenever you wish to update your following list.

can you upload B1go Downloader again, as the link is dead.
